Bracelet Size Guide: How to Measure Your Wrist

A bracelet should feel intentional on the wrist, not guessed from a title alone. The key is to compare your own measurement with the measurement system used for the exact design. Cuffs, bangles and chain bracelets are built differently, so they should not be sized in the same way.

Step 1: measure your wrist

  1. Use a flexible tape measure. If you do not have one, wrap a narrow strip of paper or string around the wrist and then measure that length against a ruler.
  2. Measure at the point where you plan to wear the piece, close to the skin but without pulling tight.
  3. Record the result in millimetres or centimetres and measure again if you are unsure.
  4. Use that number as your starting point—not as a universal bracelet size.

Know which measurement you are reading

Construction Most useful product-page details What to remember
Open cuff Inner diameter, opening, fit notes and whether it is adjustable An open silhouette does not mean unlimited resizing. Adjust only as the product page allows.
Fixed bangle Inside diameter and the fit notes for passing over the hand Wrist circumference and bangle inside diameter are different measurements.
Chain or link bracelet Stated length, closure position and any extension length Check where the clasp will sit and how much ease you prefer.

Choosing your fit

A closer fit keeps a cuff or bracelet nearer the wrist; a relaxed fit leaves more movement. There is no single correct preference, but the construction sets the boundary. A fixed bangle must pass over the widest part of the hand, while an open cuff should sit according to the maker’s stated fit. Do not force a piece to achieve a looser or tighter fit than its details support.

For open cuffs

Read both Dimensions and Adjustable on the product page. If adjustment is indicated, make small, deliberate changes only when needed for the initial fit. Repeated opening and closing can affect the intended shape and surface details. If a cuff is described as fixed or not adjustable, treat the stated inner diameter as the final fit reference.

For bangles

Check the inside diameter, then consider the hand as well as the wrist. A bangle is worn by passing it over the hand, so a wrist measurement alone is not enough. If you are between listed sizes or have a fuller knuckle area, contact us before ordering rather than forcing a fixed bangle.

Before you order

  • Measure your wrist and write down the result.
  • Identify whether the design is a cuff, fixed bangle or chain bracelet.
  • Read the exact Dimensions, Fit Notes and Adjustable fields on that product page.
  • Check the listed size against your preferred fit—not only against a photograph.
  • Contact us before ordering if the measurement is unclear or you are between sizes.
